LA NOSTRA STORIA
ll Golf di Marina Velca ha una storia di oltre 50 anni e nel tempo ha registrato sulle sue 9 buche il passaggio di teste coronate, capitani d’industria e celebri cantanti richiamati dalla sua posizione, da un clima favorito dal frequente soleggiamento e da un territorio che vanta più di 3.000 anni di storia.
Il golf è situato su una collina nel centro residenziale Pian di Spille in prossimità del mare e della valle del fiume Marta, si trova vicino al confine con la Toscana, al porto di Civitavecchia, alla città di Viterbo ed è collegato tramite autostrada a Roma e all’aeroporto di Fiumicino.
Dal percorso si può ammirare il panorama delle torri e delle mura medioevali della città d Tarquinia ed una delle sue buche è stata realizzata in prossimità di antiche tombe etrusche naturalmente rinvenute.
Tra lecci, pini, eucalipti e altre essenze tipiche della vegetazione mediterranea durante il percorso è facile ricevere la compagnia dell’ibis eremita che è considerato un uccello sacro, dell’upupa, del cavaliere d’Italia, di cigni e altre specie di uccelli, grazie anche alla vicinanza delle Saline di Tarquinia e della laguna di Orbetello.
Vicissitudini societarie ed anche una naturale evoluzione di questo sport hanno fatto sì che questa struttura stia iniziando a scrivere la terza fase della sua storia, il primo campo nato alla fine degli anni ’60 su disegno di Rodolfo Russo era un percorso a 9 buche par 3 con doppie partenze, negli anni ’80 il campione italiano Ugo Grappasonni ha modificato le 9 buche progettando l’attuale percorso, nell’estate 2020 il golf ha cambiato immagine e una nuova società ha in carica la sua gestione.
The Marina Velca Golf has over 50 years of history and over time has recorded on its 9 holes the passage of crowned heads, captains of industry and famous singers recalled from its position, from a climate favored by frequent sunshine and from a territory which boasts more than 3,000 years of history.
The Golf Club is located on a hill in the Pian di Spille residential center near the sea and the Marta river valley, it is located near the border with Tuscany, the port of Civitavecchia, the city of Viterbo and is connected by highway to Rome and Fiumicino airport.
From the path you can admire the panorama of the towers and medieval walls of the city of Tarquinia and one of its holes was built near ancient Etruscan tombs naturally found.
Between holm oaks, pines, eucalyptus and other essences typical of Mediterranean vegetation during the journey it is easy to receive the company of the ibis hermit which is considered a sacred bird, of the Upupa, of the Cavaliere d’Italia, of swans and other species of birds, thanks also to the proximity of the Saline di Tarquinia and the Orbetello lagoon.
Corporate vicissitudes and also a natural evolution of this sport have meant that this structure is starting to write the third phase of its history, the first course born in the late 1960s based on a design by Rodolfo Russo was a 9-hole par 3 course with double starts, in the 80s the Italian champion Ugo Grappasonni modified the 9 holes designing the current course, in the summer 2020 golf changed its image and a new company took over its management.
Il nuovo logo vuole richiamare la posizione geografica vicino al mare su una terra collinare molto generosa, i colori chiari simboleggiano il sole da cui è costantemente illuminato, il nome affonda nell’antica storia etrusca ricordando la celeberrima fanciulla Velka.
